Bucharest is a safe and welcoming city, with very low levels of violent crime. As in any major urban area, visitors are encouraged to follow normal safety precautions. Avoid displaying valuables, remain aware of your surroundings, and be cautious of pickpockets or potential scams. Do not accept taxi rides, car transfers, tours, or guiding services from individuals who approach you on the street, regardless of how professional or friendly they may appear.
